Yesterday would’ve been Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 106th  birthday, and in thinking about his contributions to automotive design, I thought about his infamous pissing match with Enzo Ferrari, which gave birth to one of the biggest rivalries in automobile fandom. I can relate more to Lamborghini’s working-class attitude and chutzpah, and as a guy who started out making workmanlike products like tractors - which were vital in getting post-war Italy back on it’s feet again. He’s more relatable to me than Ferrari, who only sold cars because he *had* to, to fund his race team.

Then I wondered about another famous rivalry that’s now being rekindled with the reintroduction of the Ford Bronco, in a form more reminiscent of it’s roots, and how it will fare against the perpetual favorite Jeep Wrangler, now into it’s eighth decade of continuous lineage. I’ve always been a Wrangler owner, but I like the Bronco - mostly because it will push the Wrangler engineering team to keep on innovating. And that’s a good thing.

Speaking to the car folks here: which camp are you in, and why?
