I love how Sriracha was 'discovered' about a decade or so ago when its popularity ran wild and it was found almost everywhere and in every food. Of course the predictable happened where there was an ensuing backlash where people claimed Sriracha is 'overrated'. Most of that probably came from from the need to be contrarian. This all happened when white people started using and popularizing Sriracha. The same types also started criticizing it once it became too popular. Good Lord, I'm Asian and have been eating Sriracha since as far as I can remember.....from about the 90s or so, and well before white people 'discovered' it. It is not overrated. It has been a staple condiment for tons of Asian foods for forever. The flavor goes so well with so many Asian foods. Yes, I've had authentic Sriracha sauces from Thailand because I've been there many times. The American version from Huy Fong is just better. It is way better balanced in terms of heat and flavor. The CEO of Huy Fong is known for being very hermit like, who takes quality for his product to the extreme. It shows. He also turned down numerous offers from bigger food makers to buy out his brand back when Sriracha was hitting peak popularity, because he was afraid another company would ruin the quality of the product. It just goes to show you how dedicated the man is to making a damn good sauce. No, Sriracha is not overrated because it got popular after white people discovered it. Before you know it, Cholula sauce, which is popular with white people at the moment, will be labeled as being 'overrated' next because white people have popularized it.
You're a racist. You're making this about stirring the pot (no pun intended). :D
