Your post is very confusing. What are you trying to go to court for?
Thank you for your interest and apologizes if you found the post confusing. The post omits information because I cannot go into the details of an issue that is very articulated and also involves private information regarding a kid. We need an attorney to assist in official communication with DCPS regarding the DC residency of a kid that has a special legal situation. We want this 'specialty' to be reviewed, not dismissed as it has been so far. To do so, we are seeking advice, counselling and maybe representation by an education law attorney in DC. We are aware that there will be costs associated to this type of service. We are relatively new to DC. Our family attorney referred us to a person we were not impressed with. We have names from Google searches and 'Best Attorney' portals, but in addition to these hits we are also seeking referrals based on personal experience. The adoption section of this portal provided some of the best and real-experience advice for our case. That's why I am writing here. The vibe from this section feels very different though. I hope I won't have to regret dropping these lines here. I trust we are all parents here, and I know that empathy and help can be transmitted also in anonymous forums. Thank you.
