Nothing to do with dreambox. Based on performance, SOL, and Math Inventory. Nationally 1030 is the algebra readiness benchmark for MI but APS has sometimes set the benchmark even higher.[/quote]

This cannot be true - many students in 6th grade Pre-Algebra did not get a perfect 600 on the 6th grade math SOL.

The numbers quoted were on the placement letters.  There was also a cog at cut off of 135 for quantitative.  I remember thinking it must be a very tough class.[/quote]

Very few kids take pre algebra as a sixth grader.  It’s ok, they can still take algebra as an eighth grader.  
Though if it makes you feel better— my daughter had a 140 cogat and near perfect sol.  She made the mi cut off when they tested her this past fall.  They put her in math 6, it’s been fine.  Middle school is such a transition, I’m happy she isn’t super stressed.[/quote]
