My DS has congestion and it isn’t improving. I suspect seasonal allergies. The school says he has to be symptom-free, so I tried looking up the policy on FCPS. This page says it’s ok to send him in. https://www.fcps.edu/about-fcps/policies-regulations-and-notices/attendance-policies/attendance-when-should-i-send-my So can he go in or not? I’m confused.
Are you using an allergy medicine? Normally once we give our kid is allergy medicine the symptoms are no longer present.
People should not have to treat a child or test a child for allergies to prove it’s not covid. This area is insane!!!!!
We use medicine for allergies because it is not comfortable to be sneezing or have a runny nose all day. The medicine dries up the nose and DS feels better. Bonus, during COVID times it means he doesn’t get sent to the nurse/medic/whatever the person is called these days because they are sneexing or wiping their nose all day. A little bit of Zyrtec or whatever your Doctor suggests for allergies is not going to harm your child. We were doing this before COVID for basic comfort. It’s allergies, use allergy medicine for the time period when the allergies are causing issues.
