I don't eat a whole lot, I just don't get as hungry as I used to, so my calories are "fine," but this also means the little/moderate amount I do eat isn't always the healthiest. It's like, if this is going to be one of the few things I'm eating today, I want protein and I do tend towards animal products. And sugar-- not a huge actual amount, but it makes up too high a percentage of my calories IMO (calories range from 1000-2000, but probably average 1400-1600, and I'm not dieting). I think I'll become a bit malnourished if I don't watch out. I LOVE roasted veggies and salads and so on... less a fan of most fruit. But some days I get like... one serving of fruits/veg. Yikes. Other days, a bit more. If we don't count beans/nuts/seeds, I'm especially bad off. Today-- counting corn and beans-- I had... maybe 2 total servings according to the USDA. About the same yesterday. If I end up with a big old salad for dinner, I can hit maybe 3-4. Maybe 5-6 on an amazing day, when I'm out picking fruit or just went to the farmers market or something. It's not great!
OP here - It didn't occur to me that beans/ nuts and seeds would count. I usually have 1-2 servings of those a day, easily. (I add flax seeds to my morning oatmeal and I usually eat nuts while cooking dinner.)
