It's just way harder to teach delayed gratification and impulse control to a child with ADHD, which is why they needs meds, and the correct dose, which can vary as they develop and grow. People with ADHD are more likely to become addicts than people without ADHD, and they self-medicate or self-soothe with all kinds of substances, because of their impulse issues and possible need to reduce anxiety and associated feelings. Just throwing it out there just in case. Someone who can't say no to a friend in such circumstances raises red flags.[/quote]
