Putting on a race is not cheap - paying for permits, police coverage, things like barriers and water and finish line snacks.  I know it sounds crazy, but that's not cheap.  In addition, much of the cost goes to supporting the participation of underprivileged girls.  The full fee for the program is $165, but girls from families who qualify for FARMS can participate at a lower rate.  GOTR has a commitment to not turning away any girl for financial reasons.
