When he isn’t in class, you don’t get the robocall? I’m confused about that. Your husband should be getting those if he ever skips and it’s marked in the system. I know we get them when my son is late and they mark him absent or if I don’t call in and excuse a full day absence.
OMG in Loudoun its so annoying. Even if I call my kid in sick, or sign her out early I STILL get the automated emails telling me every class block she is missing.
Which is why I posted earlier that OP’s husband isn’t even listed as a contact for the school if he isn’t getting these. He doesn’t know the kid’s schedule for next year, doesn’t know when he’s absent, isn’t listed as a contact in Phoenix/PVUE to get the calls, and OP believes the MOM doesn’t care.
OP here. Turns out DH was getting these calls but thought they were some type of spam call (number coming up he didn't recognize around the same time of day once or twice a week) and would just cancel the calls. Don't know how he didn't listen to the voicemails, however that wasn't the point of my original question. I don't really understand how me asking why the school hadn't intervened in the excessive absences led to my husband being a terrible father and that I was just blaming the poor mom and accusing her of not caring. I really just wanted to know how this wasn't a big deal to the school, as when my child was in elementary, after being out 5 days in one quarter (not consecutive, he'd had strep twice in as many months) I got a letter expressing concern over his excessive absences. Also, the fact that he was checking his schedule request for next year somehow means my husband is a bad parent? Um, I can assure you that MY ex husband does not know the classes our child requested for next year, and probably doesn't know what classes they're taking this year to be honest. I wouldn't say that makes him a bad father, because he certainly isn't. In any case, step son came clean that he'd been staying home because he's having a hard time getting up for school (apparently staying up very late most nights talking with friends and messing around on the computer). Mother DOES know and because his grades are not suffering, doesn't care.
