Is MAths 7 honors an AAP math course in middle school? What is the MAth course in Gen Ed. DC was in AAP in elementary school. He thinks he is in Gen Ed maths as it seems so easy for him.
I have taught in several FCPS middle schools. None of them have had separate AAP sections of math--it's just "Honors algebra" or "Math 7 Honors". Anyone who qualified for the course can take it. There are 3 levels of math offered to 7th graders (with rare exceptions like special needs or being insanely ahead) Math 7 Math 7 honors (same as Math 8/prealgebra) Algebra 1 honors Math 7 honors should be almost completely a spiral of math 7 topics with some extensions pushing into baby algebra (e.g. m7 covers slope, m7h gives slope and y intercept). It's solidifying the prealgebra foundation in preparation for algebra 1.
