MCPS has been engaging in similar shenanigans as they have been up to in SF. Particularly in killing off advanced instruction opportunities through lotteries intentionally designed to reduce representation of Asian students and boundary changes that create chaos with peoples lives. Unfortunately there is no legal mechanism to recall members of that Montgomery County BOE. Certainly though Brenda Wolff needs to go. Hopefully though this recall and the numbers of candidates challenging other seats is enough to turn the tide.
MCPS has gone off the rails the past few years. The BOE clearly puts its progressive ideals above students’ needs. There needs to be some changes.
Let’s call it what it is. Instead of focusing on delivering high quality education, they are using MCPS as a vehicle for politics. The inevitable result of failure to focus on the mission is that the quality of education has declined. They need to get back to basics.
Absolutely accurate. I wouldn’t appreciate it if the BOE was pushing right-wing politics and I don’t appreciate the current MCPS BOE that pushes left-wing politics.
