I graduated from Banneker and attended a excellent college. But, I wished our school had Homecoming or girls tennis and track during my time there. Participating in athletics is not detrimental to a childs academic growth. To the contrary, my son has recieved an academic/ football scholrship. Since you are new to DC, they were just giving you some insight to the various high schools.[/quote]
