I like Harris Teeter a lot, but we really did not like Express Lane when we used it in the early pandemic months. A lot of their shoppers seemed to be teens who didn't know what they were looking for, and there were always missing items and long waits to pick up. It's worth the slight added risk to go inside.
This is my first bad experience with them. I've even been lucky enough to get shoppers who picked good produce for me! I don't mind the few missing items each week because I do understand that things go out of stock. My only other snafu I experienced was unpacking my groceries and realizing that they'd forgotten to grab a bag out of the cooler. I called, ran back for it, and it wasn't too big of a deal at all. I will say, the lines have gotten much better! They send a text now that says something like "let us know when you're on your way" and then when you arrive in the vicinity of the store, it dings that you've arrived and they start loading the groceries up. Longest wait I've had since they implemented this new technology is maybe 5 minutes. IA, early in the pandemic the lines were pretty long.
