The guy is running for president-- unless he explicitly starts his sentence with "I would never act on this as president" (and maybe not even then) then I think you pretty much have to assume he is talking about what he would do as president.[/quote]

To clarify, she is no way supports Santorum's candidacy.  She's a diehard Democrat and advocate of women's rights.  She has often lamented the parade of ridiculous candidates in the Republican primary because she thinks it's important that elections promote thoughtful and serious conversations about the country's problems and policy and that voters are offered a clear choice. That conversation can't happen with Donald Trump, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin or any other ignorant/vanity candidate.  Although extreme, Santorum is a legitimate candidate and his candidacy is having the desired effect (to the Democrats' advantage-- yippee!)

That's also why she's been really excited about the senate race between Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown.  (She's a big Warren supporter.)

Not trying to be a Mika cheerleader or anything, but having watched her for so long and knowing about the books she's written for and about women succeeding professionally, I think it's really inaccurate (and unfair) to somehow suggest that she's anything other than a good advocate for women's rights.[/quote]
