I'm a single issue voter and mine is climate change. Schools should close when a huge Covid wave crashs into our region, yes, that's a no-brainer. Same for businesses. It's to keep our hospitals from saturating, so it's worth it. We can haggle over details, but in the main, that's my feeling. I have 2 kids in public, 1 with special needs, but their needs aren't more important than keeping open beds in hospital.
Good luck with that. Nothing D.C. does makes any difference whatsoever to climate change.
PP you replied to. We all play a role. I apply that criteria to every election I vote in. Individuals cannot act effectively on their own to minimize greenhouse gasses, since the big polluters are industrial (mainly the food, energy and transportation sectors). To mitigate the effects of climate change, we need governments around the world to legislate and enforce laws to hold industries accountable. This means that the consumer will see changes in what's available and how much it costs. But it's also the consumer who needs to vote in elected officials that can enforce such actions. Anyway, sorry for straying off topic.
