Everyone and there cousin around here takes hours and hours of tuitions and test prep center classes for multiple years but hardly few make semifinalist or finalist let alone an actual scholar. What’s the secret sauce for this?
At my kids shool 3 students made the semifinalitst including my kid. Then my kid made the finalist. Probably all 3 of them made finalist. My kid never had prep for that. Her SAT ened up 1540. Went to USC as an honor student with Half tuition scholarship.
What school?
It might reveal too much of my identity but I guess it's ok. Centreville HS Different schools provide different amount of National Merit Scholarship. Some only give you like $2000 $3000. Some give you full tuition such as U Florida. Luckily my daughter's dream school provides 50% tuition for National Merit, so it worked out nicely.
