Dr. DiMattina told me they're focusing on STIM and PGS. Dr. DiMattina told me the numbers aren't there. Very disappointing as we had just attempted our first cycle and ovulated before retrieval. They will do monitoring for New Hope in NYC for patients who choose to go that route - not sure if they will take on new NCIVF patients.
Dominion has a NYC office?
No - Dr. DiMattina is now telling Dominion patients who want to continue NC-IVF that they should go to a clinic (called New Hope) in NYC to do it. These patients can do monitoring locally at Dominion, who will send the results to New Hope, then the patients would travel to NYC at the critical point in their cycle. When looked at from a business perspective, this is such a bizarre move for Dominion - Dr. DiMattina is literally sending away profits.
DP. Unless the profits they might make from this aren’t worth the longer-term harm to reputation if they become known for selling patients on a procedure with low success rates to take advantage of people who can’t afford other options.
I don't think this is the issue. Its the issue of a lower success rate overall in the infertility realm. Anyone who understands NC IVF understands their odds compared to stim because of less eggs. My cycle failed because I ovulated before retrieval. We're not all doing it because its more affordable, we're doing it to avoid creating excess embryos and not taking a bunch of drugs. And its very disappointing that this is not an option in DMV anymore. Dominion staff in general is not great imo. I am still waiting on my beta test results for an IUI two weeks ago and its almost 4pm. They took over 15 minutes to show up to retrieve my husband's semen after a twenty minute drive then told us with a straight face for some unknown reason only 7 million vs. the typical 9 million sperm survived the wash. They also waited an hour and a half after knowing my egg had already ovulated to do the IUI. So yeah, thinking the test is not positive and that without Dr. DiMattina to oversee this staff and procedures it makes me feel like the rest of the staff doesn't seem to understand their roles. After paging them at 3pm I received a call from the nurse at 3:30pm saying they sent the negative message at 11am but somehow it didn't go through. I think NC IVF is way too overwhelming for this staff.
