YMMV but I’ve had the opposite experience: a big pharma sales rep (she had a lot of parties), lead software engineer with 15+ years of experience in IT, organization behavior consultant employed by an FFRDC, operations engineer at an FFRDC, and an IT director for a large federal contractor just to name a few. I know of one SAHM who was with an MLM.

This excludes people I remember from childhood who had Avon, Tupperware, MaryKaye, Hoda, Stanley Home Products or scented candles. Actually I didn’t know the reps. Only that my mom and grandma were invited to these parties. [/quote]

I should add that I have two colleagues who joined the MLMs who don’t sell to anyone to support hobbies: one is an IT small business owner who was big into scrapbooking and an engineer who is into making handmade cards which she’s been doing for 20+ years. Not sure that the first one is still scrapbooking with paper; the second is definitely still into it.[/quote]
