Currently, there is no enforcement mechanism for DC. So we can ticket MD and VA drivers, but if they don’t pay their tickets, there’s absolutely nothing we can do, because Virginia and Maryland refuse to suspend plates/licenses of people who rack up unpaid fines in DC. So you have extremely dangerous out of state drivers with thousands of dollars in tickets continuing to drive recklessly. Bowser was supposed to approach MD and VA about fixing the is situation. She said she had. Turns out she didn’t and lied about it. Next time you’re almost run over by a Maryland driver, run the plate. Bet you’ll find a ton of unpaid tickets.[/quote]
