I'm a new PP and a parent of a current 3rd grader. I had no idea how helpful the TN2 test results would be until we received them. We learned from the test results that my daughter had a learning disability that had never been picked up by anyone in preschool or K-2 at MCPS. Or by us (her parents)...so I'm grateful for the Terra Novas as they have helped us refocus our attention on our daughter who had needs that were not being addressed because her good behavior caused her needs to be unnoticed.
Would you be willing to share what you learned and how? I wonder about some things for my own daughter and asked a few questions after getting her test scores (which were all over the place). Even though the test specialist said not to worry, my gut tells me not to let this go.
If you have any concerns with scores all over the place (which I did), I'd consider going outside of MCPS. I knew there was something up from looking at the scores so went to a private psychologist who did a battery of tests and, sure enough, my daughter had learning disabilities we were unaware of. I know it isn't ideal to spend the $ (around $1500-2000) but I can't tell you how happy I am that we spent that money as I know much more about my daughter and her needs because of it.
Thank you.
