I seriously had no idea how it was going to happen. She kept meeting people online through gaming and art stuff that were far away. She had a few "boyfriends" that she was "dating", who she never met in person and would never be able to meet in person. I put these two words in quotes because it was just really an adjustment for me to listen to her use these terms, when the way it was all unfolding was nothing like what I associate with either of those terms!! They were nice kids, though, and in fact she is good friends with them now still. I think our teens sometimes know what they need and while we may not approve of them spending so much time online, for example, sometimes a void is filled and not in a negative way. Its just so interesting that "online" became the way she met someone that lives in our same city. And thats because she kept in touch with a few IRL friends online during the pandemic, And, well, here we are. Her girlfriend is also a nice and intelligent person. They are clearly a good match as friends and now as "partners" as she calls it. The cuteness factor of it all is pretty over the top.[/quote]
