DD scored in the Advanced band in the recent MI assessment. I understand that the test is adaptive and she mentioned there were questions beyond her grade. I'm wondering what these scores will eventually translate into? Do these scores really matter over the long-term? What is the rationale behind assessing students in areas they have not been taught/learnt?
No. If you are in aps, they are only doing mi this year in lower elementary because of covid in order to quantify learning loss. My second grader scored in seventh grade. She doesn’t know how to multiply or divide. It kind of made me question the validity of the test.
