If you are licensed K-12 in a specialty area (ie special education, music, etc.) then most programs require student teach experiences in ES and MS or HS. For example, I was gen ed ES who switched to a K-12 endorsement and I opted to skip my student teaching experience in HS since I wanted to stay in ES. If at this point I wanted to switch to HS, I theoretically could, but I would not be at the top of anyone's list with no experience at that level.[/quote]
