I would say most of my miscarriages (from age 28-31 I had 8) were chemical type miscarriages. Betas didn't double and we only saw a small gestational sac, but sometimes didn't make it that far. My treatment plan was G-CSF and intralipids and I saw Dr. Braverman in NY. My diagnosis was immune related in nature. I am now 13 weeks on this treatment.
Same here. I had more chemical pregnancies than I care to count. Never saw a heartbeat. I was finally diagnosed with elevated NK cells and anti-phospholipid antibodies. Treated with IVIG, Dexamethasone and Lovenox. We now have a 9-week old DD.
First, I would like to say congratulations! I am supposed to go on dexamethasone and lovenox when I am ready to ttc. I'm a bit reluctant to go on dexamethasone because it is a pregnancy category c, how did you feel about that? Did you find it difficult to administer the lovenox shots? I heard it burns?
Thanks so much! My doctor's office prescribes a lot of Dexamethasone for fertility purposes and has done so for years. They monitor their pregnancy outcomes closely, so I felt pretty comfortable about taking it. I used it pre-conception through 12 weeks, at which point I was told to discontinue. My biggest problem with the Dex was weight gain, but I'd still take it again in a heartbeat. DD was born happy and healthy. The Lovenox does burn a little going in but it goes away quickly. It also gave me a lot of bruises on my stomach. On the plus side, the needles are tiny and you can barely feel the injection. It's sooo much easier than those God-awful PIO shots that you have to take intra-muscularly!
