Same thing is happening at Capital City Public Charter. And ITS and Mundo. All these formerly hard to get into charters are rushing to fill their spots. Is it really possible that so many charter families left DC during the pandemic?
I think it totally is possible. I know three families from my DD's grade level at our HRCS that moved far away and one that moved to upper NW.
Same. I know people in both of those scenarios (moved out of DC and moved to NW), as well as folks who went private.
One of my kids (mid-elementary) had three friends move to other parts of the country, one to DMV suburbs, and one go to inbound DCPS because older sibling got into BASIS or Latin and they didn't want two long-ish school commutes in different directions (and the younger sibling will now have preference for a middle school that feeds to a HS so even less reason to stay).
