What about teacher recommendations?
They eliminated that a few years ago because they were subjective and inconsistent.
But teachers actually know their work habits, intellect, and potential. Oh, well.
Not always. They often favor well-behaved kids who give them the answers they want. I had a teacher tell me that my DS wasn’t really all that in math in third grade. He was bored out of his mind and coming up with other methods to do the math to entertain himself. Reading books instead of doing the Fast Math apps on the chromebook, and not really getting good grades. He’s killing it in his math-science magnet middle school right now.
This is why you get several recommendations and look for consistency across them.
