Can someone who has had kids go through this magnet program share their impressions? It seems like a lot of great field trips, but beyond that i don’t know much about it. Seems like a lot of hands on science - akin to Wheaton’s hands on engineering program? How’s the cohort compare to Blair’s stem magnet? TIA
Anyone from Down county send their DC up to this program? Seems amazing but too far for us in Silver Spring…
I’m the one that posted below. It’s not worth it. Traffic is too heavy and the commute is a killer. We live 30 minutes away and it’s tough but worthwhile.
That’s what I’m thinking, sadly. It’d be 45 minutes from us… Which is how long my other high schooler’s LOCAL bus would take sometimes, with all the stops, but I’m not kidding myself. I don’t think we could swing it, sadly. It sounds great!!
Global parent again. If we lived in the DCC, I would look at the CAP program or a signature program at the home school. Wheaton Engineering, I’ve heard good things second hand things about. . Kids from Potomac were waking up at 5:30 in the morning to get to PHS. My kids need their sleep and that would be a deal breaker for us.
