No, the Dead Kennedy's are not a band usually associated with racists or neo-nazis. The Dead Kennedy's have a famous song called "Nazi Punks F*ck Off"

The marking on the back of the truck does not look like the Dead Kennedy's logo. Similar, but not the same.

While this and all you said and others may be true, could they mistaken by idiots for racists? Here's their thinking (stupid people) Dead Kennedys are dead democrats! That's good. They sing about Nazi punks...that's good! They make trance-like punk music. I can smoke pot to that!

Misappropriation possible? Also, the dude was probably trying to do the symbol unless there are other symbol's I"m not familiar with. It's been awhile since i checked out the SPLC's list of symbols.

Dead Kennedys had disaffection for popular culture and society as a whole, so I guess racists could feel similarly alienated, while ignoring any songs inconveniently targeted at them.  It is telling that DK had to make a song called "Nazi Punks F Off"  But the whole Southern California punk scene in general attracted racist skinheads in the 80s and 90s, so this isn't unique to the Dead Kennedys.[/quote]
