Art interpretation is far from my strongest skill (much closer to my weakest), but it seems pretty clear that the first one is a comment on the brutality of war and the "happy family" shows all the world's people united in peace while bending a sword into a plowshare.  [b]I am reminded a bit of Picasso's "Guernica".[/b]

interesting piece by Picasso.

If you look at the top, you'll see the "all-seeing eye," which includes the light inside it.  To the bottom left, on the figure's hand, is a star/pentagram.  (I blew up the graphic to get a closer look.)  There is the horned animal (bull/baphomet figure).  These are just a few observations.  It's quite fascinating actually.
