I’ve owned this book since 2005 and only now got around to reading it. Holy hell, it is one of The best things I have ever read. Any one have any recommendations for similar books? Or books with a similar mood/ tone. I love anything subtly eerie, books about sociopaths and maternal ambivalence.
Not about maternal ambivalence but sociopathy character study is the “you” series by Carolyn Kepnes.. which was adapted to a Netflix series but her books are good. I also love Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho. I didn’t finish “Babyteeth” but it’s about maternal ambivalence and a bad seed child and some people loved it. I read “we need to talk about Kevin” when I was pregnant with my first child (a boy)… and it chilled me to the core.. the film adaptation was good too!
