I like boatnecks a lot, too.  My impression is necklines are quite high right now, and that looks fresher to me.  I have old scoop necks, that I used to love, and they just suddenly look dated.  I know there will be someone here offering pat advice on neckline for a given bust size, saying this is a trend that shouldn't be followed.  Nonetheless, I think higher necks look fresh right now, and I'm not going to overthink it.
