https://www.wbaltv.com/article/baltimore-county-covid-19-state-of-emergency-delta-variant/37385068# I have many questions about this. Will this affect the schools reopening and how will it affect Montgomery county and will other counties follow?
no worries. the schools will open as planned. you all need to calm down.
OP here and I was wondering if it would delay in person school.
No, it won't. Politicians and local leaders are acutely aware that it's political suicide right now to close schools, even in the face of intense viral spread that a year ago would have closed schools no question. But sadly, instead of pushing for rigorous contract tracing in schools, such as assigned indoor seating at lunch (which is crucial, since it's prime Delta-spreading time and this is where kids will most likely catch it), moving lunch outdoors whenever possible, ensuring each classroom has adequate ventilation and air filtration (which they don't, despite pretense to the contrary), and generally educating staff and students on how to wear their masks properly and how to choose a quality mask, everyone in charge is just standing there apathetically waiting for Covid surges to inevitably lead to mass quarantining and, at some point, close schools.
