I still wonder if I had taken the time to do that if I would have lost both rings or neither.  I'm glad I still have the wedding band, but it would have been cheaper to replace than the engagement ring.  My DH says that one of these days he is going to surprise me with a new 'identical' one, but I kind of feel like what's the point now - it isn't going to be the ring he actually proposed with.  Anyway, I hope your ring actually turns up somewhere![/quote]
