She is incredibly well connected, and especially with regards to the Obama White House, you just don't say negative things about the well-connected people. Because they might because WH Press Sec in the next administration. That doesn't reflect how people feel about her, it reflects that she has been successfully in her career at climbing the ladder. That's different than liking or respecting someone. I have heard she's nice and easy to work with. Not glowing praise, not criticism. She's middle of the road, which probably serves her very well.
