It isn't useless to make plans, just accept that you may miss a soccer game. Heaven forbid. But it is also kinda naive to think you'll have any soccer free weekends in the fall through Thanksgiving.

If you are asking about soccer season schedule in July my guess is you are new to travel soccer and your child is young. With this assumption, your absence will not "hurt the team". The team will survive. Missing a game here or there is not the end of the world. Don't make it a habit but don't expect your weekends to be free during the season either. Don't expect a fall schedule to be released EVER in July.

What you can do is let your coach know now if you have some trouble weekends or days that you can't make. Depending on the league the coaches can do some reshuffling of the schedule and your coach may be able to accommodate or work a bye week in that can help out. It would also give them time to find a guest player if need be. The communication is a two way street. [/quote]
