RSM will not allow students to participate in various contests, like Math Olympiad and MathCounts.
Completely false. RSM even has dedicated classes for math competitors.
I've had a principal tell me that he had to verify that students are not involved in these contests. I have seen RSM participating in Noetic Math League directly. Others at my school participated but were not aware of the restriction. Parent said they would ask and I advised against it. If RSM is being used as a standalone school and the student is not going to a regular school, then that is different.
I doubt it's true for Mathcounts. For in school contests, I would imagine they have the rule in place so kids can't take the Math Olympiad test at school, and then take the exact same test at RSM.
