Kids that age should not be at home with a nanny all summer. They should be at camp or some other activity, and they are also old enough to not need a true nanny. I feel like I’m flushing my money down the toilet for a nanny/babysitter for my 6 and 9 year olds because they are mostly self sufficient and entertain themselves and/or play with friends. That said, I pay $20/hour for our part-time nanny/sitter so depending on where you live, I’d say $20-25/hr is more than generous.
+1 We pay our current part-time summer sitter $17/hr for 2 kids ages 9 and 12. She takes them to the pool for swim and dive practice. I need a driver more than a sitter as my kids are pretty self sufficient and do their own things when home. I think ages of kids and level of care they need plays a role in price. I'd pay more for 4 kids under the ager of 7 than OP's kids ages.
