Arlington though that this was going to be the equivalent to Thomas Jefferson High School for Math and Science Technology in Fairfax County, which is recognized by colleges all over the country. Not even close. Colleges see Arlington Tech as a vocational program. It hasn't gotten the traction they had hoped for. Sorry but it's not going to give anyone an edge in the college application process compared to the regular high schools. Most kids with a GPA around 3.7 - 4.0 can get into VT.Washington Liberty gets tons of kids into VT each year. [/quote]

You have no clue what you're talking about.
The assertion that it hasn't "caught on" is debatable.  Lots of students apply each year.  The waitlist does move significantly, especially in relation to other waitlists in the system.  But each class is easily filled each year despite the crappy facilities and APS' failure to invest in the program as it promised.  A parking lot of trailers really doesn't do much to lure students.  Nevertheless, it has grown as APS has permitted it to grow and will "catch on" more quickly than you think once APS finally properly renovates and expands the site.[/quote]
