Arlington though that this was going to be the equivalent to Thomas Jefferson High School for Math and Science Technology in Fairfax County, which is recognized by colleges all over the country. Not even close. Colleges see Arlington Tech as a vocational program. It hasn't gotten the traction they had hoped for. Sorry but it's not going to give anyone an edge in the college application process compared to the regular high schools. Most kids with a GPA around 3.7 - 4.0 can get into VT.Washington Liberty gets tons of kids into VT each year. [/quote]

This. The concept was originally proposed by parents of kids who were having a great experience in the CC classes. I would expect AT to lean even more towards VA public Us than the other HSs given the school's focus on dual enrollment classes. [/quote]
