My nanny is currently on a trip to visit her family in another country that has a decent prevalence of Covid (vaccination has not been implemented like in the US). She is fully vaccinated but I guess the rules to travel there and back are that she needed to show a negative Covid test to get on the flight each way. She is flying back this Saturday night and returns to work on Monday. She does not need to quarantine or test since she is fully vaccinated. Would you have her return to work as planned less than 48 hours after she returns from the trip or would you have her wait a few days and then get tested even though it isn’t required? My concern here is that she could be sick and asymptomatic or mostly asymptomatic and pass it along to my unvaccinated kids.
Which means that if she even was exposed she doesn’t have to quarantine, meaning she does not pass along the virus. But if you really want your peace of mind give her Monday off and have her come back to work when you feel comfortable but be sure it’s all paid.
