All I know is that the Celtic U-little boy teams consistently compete well in local tournaments. However, it seems that some other local clubs are bigger and might be able to recruit better players: SAC, Coppermine, Baltimore Union, maybe Pipeline. These other clubs appear to win more often. I do not know how the teams compare after U13 or so, and I also have no info on coaches, club management, etc... Hopefully somebody with more experience with Celtic can chime in.
I am the pp who has the child who is heading back to Celtic. He has also played on some of the clubs mentioned above and obviously played against them. Celtic, much like pipeline and others, is a for profit entity which means that they want to win to bring in more players to get more teams to win more to bring in more money, etc. There was a shake up a few years ago at Celtic and my experience was that they weren't supporting the teams that were average - not getting field times, not providing funds when needed, etc. However, I have found that at the end of the day, the coach and the coaches ability to navigate the club determines your experience. Additionally, the coach also defines much of your experience and your child's. Don't get hung up on the club name - especially in the Baltimore area. Just find a team and a coach that fits.
