I have several gifts to give this week. 2 preschool teachers (age 50), 2 elementary (age ~30) and a 10yo boy. I feel it is so hard to know what people want lately so I often just give gift cards. Is Amazon the way to go? I used to do target for everyone but these days people seem to buy everything online. Do teachers still like Starbucks? DH thinks I should give the teachers Starbucks and the kid an Amazon gift card. I know my preschool child likes any gift but my upper elementary boys are now picky and don’t even play with toys.
Visa or Mastercard guft card. Recipient can use where they want.
NP. I refuse to buy these out of principle because of the service charge they add to the purchase price.
Plus they aren't like regular gift cards where you can just whatever's left on the card and then pay for the rest with another method. There has to be enough on the card to cover the whole transaction, which means a lot of cards get thrown away with a dollar or two on them (all part of the plan, I'm sure).
is this true, so if I have $10 left on the card I can’t buy something for $20 and put the rest on a credit card or cash? I just got a Visa gift card from my MIL so haven’t dealt with this before.
