+1  They need to video chat.  Have they FaceTimed, etc?  If he refuses a video chat, there is a reason.  If this were my daughter, I would insist on a video chat, and tell her that while you won't hang over her shoulder, you do want to do a "walk through" the room the first time she video chats with him, just to "see" and hear him for a minute the first time they talk.  If he refuses video chat, I would forbid the contact.[/quote]
