Same thing happened to me. Blood test showed I wasn’t immune to chicken pox and I had to get the vaccine before starting IVF at Shady Grove. It’s a two part vaccine and you have to wait a month after the second shot, so it pushed everything back by two months.
This exact thing happened to me too. I was all set to start IVF in January but ended up delaying it and eventually started in early April due to the Varicella vaccine. I believe it's recommended t get vaccinated but they can not refuse to start treatment, you will have to sign a waiver though. I signed one before my first(and only) IUI because we were desperate to start some form of treatment and were willing to take the risk. Once that was unsuccessful, I knew I anyway wanted to take a month off before getting into IVF so it made sense to get vaccinated during the wait. I suppose for me it was better safe than sorry, even though I read that Chicken pox is no longer so common in US. I just didn't want to live with the fear of contracting the disease if and when I did get pregnant (it's supposed to be life threatning for the fetus/embryo), so I wanted to get it out of the way before we dove into IVF.
