Just one point. It's ethnically prejudiced to complain that names are hard to pronounce! Please don't train your children to think like that. The world will only get smaller, and your kids will have to learn to tread lightly around names all their lives. One of my children goes by his nickname from an Asian country, and even though all his peers have always pronounced it correctly, sometimes teachers have trouble with it - they must overthink it instead of just pronouncing it phonetically.  Embrace the names!

I agree with this point. But to give 3rd graders a quiz with multiple errors, combined with *words* they aren't even able to pronounce, just results in more frustration and confusion. [/quote]
