Luna Park and deno's will be open starting April 9th. The Bronx zoo is my grandsons favorite. I'd also recommend Serendipity and Dylans candy bar. Museum of ice cream, the m&m store, the Nintendo store, Brooklyn botanical garden and prospect park. Children's museum.
Did serendipity’s ever reopen? If so, it is so fun for kids (and adults). Make sure to make a reservation. If it’s not open, max brenner, sugar factory, cafe la lo or black tap are fun places to get desserts with kids. Check out the new FAO schwarz, and American Girl store in rockafeller center. In Times Square, there used to be a fun Hershey store and m&m world. As others mentioned, Central Park is the best. You can do a picnic there, do playgrounds, merry go round, and rowboats. The central pro boathouse is fancy but breathtakingly beautiful. Museum of natural history, museum of ice cream. The Egyptian wing of the met was one of my favorite things as a kid. Brunch at a sarabeths or the smith is also a fun experience- they both have several locations throughout the city and some outdoor dining. You could also do a circle line tour, if those are operating right now, and the highline is a great outdoor attraction.
