Here is a summary of the Girls results for the better teams at Jeff Cup. Some ages I went three deep. GA could have better numbers if I went 4, 5, and 6 divisions deep but when debating the top clubs/teams in the area, I don't think you really need to go past 3 divisions. Regardless, these are the final statistics. All team affiliations U11 through U17 and U18/19 in the below Divisions that I included. 40 Total Girls Academy Teams in the Divisions I list below. 82 Total Girls ECNL Teams 22 Total Girls EDP Teams 6 Total Girls CCL Teams 5 Total Girls from other Leagues. ***Arlington was included with GA for this as well as SOCA*** Division Champions (Top 2 and Top 3 depending on how many divisions/teams total) ECNL Champions 15 Total GA Champions 2 Total CCL Champions 1 Total Bethesda won the most Championship finals with a total of four. Richmond and NCFC came in 2nd with two. Division Runner Ups ECNL 12 Total GA 4 Total EDP 2 Total CCL 1 Total Both Pipeline and Arlington were runner-ups twice however Pipeline did win the U19 Division. Championship Appearances (Including Ties) ECNL 29 Total GA 6 Total CCL 2 Total EDP 1 Total ECNL outpaced other leagues by a large amount even when factoring that it entered 2x the amount of teams. I wish I could post a dot plot graph to show you how lopsided this is. By the numbers you would expect ECNL to place in the finals by a rate of 2x but they actually placed by a rate of almost 5x. EDP actually had the worst showing. Herndon and Beach represented the CCL extremely well at Jeff Cup this year and shouldn't go unnoticed based on the numbers. Data used to compile verdict: 2010 Top Division (4 Future GA, 3 Future ECNL, and 1 EDP) Champion Bethesda (ECNL) Runner Up Pipeline (ECNL) 2009 Top Division (3 Future GA, 4 Future ECNL, and 1 EDP) Champion Michigan Nationals (GA) Runner Up Pipeline (ECNL) 2009 2nd Division (3 Future GA, 3 Future ECNL, 1 CCL, and 1 EDP) Champion Bethesda (ECNL) Runner Up Arlington (GA) 2008 Top Division (2 GA, 6 ECNL) Champion Richmond (ECNL) Runner Up Michigan Nationals (GA) 2008 2nd Division (2 GA, 5 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion Beadling (GA) Runner Up Arlington (GA) 2008 3rd Division (1 GA, 3 ECNL, 1 EDP, 1 CCL) Champion Bethesda (ECNL) Runner Up Loudoun (ECNL) 2007 Top Division (2 GA, 5 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion Loudoun (ECNL) Runner Up FC Virginia (GA) 2007 2nd Division (1 GA, 5 ECNL) Champion NCFC Courage (ECNL) Runner Up Solar ECRL (ECNL) 2007 3rd Division (1 GA, 1 CCL, 3 EDP) Champion Herndon (CCL) Runner Up Coppermine Premier (EDP) 2006 Top Division (2 GA, 3 ECNL, 3 EDP) Champion Bethesda (ECNL) Runner Up VDA (ECNL) 2006 2nd Division (2 GA,5 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion NCFC (ECNL) Runner Up SUSA (ECNL) 2006 3rd Division (2 GA, 3 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion East Meadow (ECNL) Runner Up McLean (ECNL) 2005 Top Division (3 GA, 8 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion Richmond (ECNL) Runner Up World Class (ECNL) 2005 2nd Division (3 GA, 4 ECNL, 1 CCL, 2 EDP, 1 SCDSL) Champion Connecticut (ECNL) Runner Up (Tie) East Meadow (ECNL) Beach FC (CCL) 2004 Top Division (3 GA, 8 ECNL, 1 CCL) Champion SUSA (ECNL) Runner Up Connecticut (ECNL) 2004 2nd Division (3 GA, 6 ECNL, 1 EDP) Champion (Tie) Charlotte Indi (ECNL) VDA (ECNL) Runner Up Eagle FC (EDP) 2003/02 Top Division (0 GA, 8 ECNL, 1 CCL, 3 EDP) Champion Pipeline (ECNL) Runner Up McLean (ECNL) 2003/02 2nd Division (3 GA, 3 ECNL, 1 EDP, 2 Florida, 1 New York, 1 Massachusetts) Champion BRYC (ECNL) Runner Up (Tie) VDA (ECNL) MD Elite (?)
If SOCA is GA then Arlington is ECNL. Right? Can’t have it both ways
