Well to be fair, that's true of most car seats at that point. But I agree the Rava is not worth the price. I liked the look of it and looked at it for a long time, but a friend told me in the end they all wind up getting messy and to just get something we didn't hate that wasn't $500. We wound up finding a Maxi Cosi Pria 85 on sale and it's been great (rear facing until almost 4, though kid is on the small side). The only thing I don't love about it, that I realized after we bought it, is that it's not steel frame and therefore not as safe as some other convertible seats. So I don't know if it's what I would buy again, but I've been really happy with it.[/quote]
