So this year the virtual thing is going to be the go to explanation for why kids don't get in. Normally it is "My child is bored so they are acting out and the Teacher doesn't see them for the genius they are." Or "My kid is a genius and bored so they don't do the work and the Teacher doesn't see them as the genius that they are." Or "My kid is quiet and not a suck up so the Teacher doesn't see them as the genius that they are". I will say that normally it is one of the first two options. But this year they can all be combined into one "Virtual is awful" category.

DS is in Third, there are plenty of kids who are participating in class and break out groups. I would guess that those are the same kids who would have been participating in class in person. The class had a good amount of activity in second when Distance Learning started.

I am sure that the AAP Committee is expecting a spike in the number of applications from third grade next year. [/quote]
