No. Elementary split them distance and hybrid so there’s no concurrent at all. At this time the school board has not revised its initial policy that parents were locked in on selections back in November. I don’t know that they will for elementary since it would necessitate a full class switch with the way they were split. It isn’t fair or beneficial to either teacher or student to start from scratch this late in the year. I would not count on the choices changing at elementary because of this.
I didn’t ask what the policy is - I am aware. I asked if anyone had done it. I know of at least one. And several who switched hybrid to DL creating space.
Then why did you ask as if you didn’t know. I’m a teacher, I don’t see it happening. In any case asking here is pointless. Call and ask.
Sigh. I was curious if it was happening at other schools. I know our school has space as several kids left for DL. You obviously don’t know the answer to my question, other than it didn’t happen at your school.
I did answer your question. It doesn’t happen at my school or as far as I know. It’s not the answer you wanted is the problem. It isn’t about if there’s space, it’s that if they let 1 family do it, they open the door to having to let them all do it. Transportation is set and bus routes can’t be changed on a dime because a school lets a family go hybrid suddenly. It’s a lot of different reasons. My insight as a school employee is actually helpful, you just don’t like what I’m saying. Anyway good luck.
Op here. Like I said, I DO know a family that was allowed to do it at another school. So asking if anyone knows of someone else is not an unreasonable question. You do not know the inner workings of every ES in Loudoun. And I don't need a bus - we are walkers.
Oh my god just call your damn school ! If you know someone who did it successfully, why ask here? Nobody else’s school/grade/class is going to be an exact match for your kid’s. Literally the only way to get this answer is ask your principal and be prepared to be told no since they can’t do it for everyone.
